Inspiration for Your Dreamy Destination Engagement Photos
For lovers with wanderlust, destination engagement photos can be the ultimate way to commemorate the decision to get married. The world is full of breathtaking places. As a destination wedding photographer, I love when people pick a destination that’s meaningful to them. Use this blog post to get inspiration for your engagement photos.
3 Creative Ideas for Your Destination Engagement Photos
Wherever you decide to travel, you can use these three categories to figure out which location is perfect for your engagement photos.
1. Your Favorite Gallery
Art galleries and museums are amazing settings for engagement photo sessions. They have grand architecture and stunning art built into the experience. Your love can feel like a work of art. I’ve photographed beautiful sessions at the North Carolina Museum of Art and the National Gallery of Art. These museums offer very different atmospheres – one modern and the other classical. Pick the ambiance that resonates with your partner and you.
2. A Historic Building
Historic architecture adds so much character to a photography session. Think outside of the box here. Two of my clients decided to have their engagement session in a Denver theater. The vintage seats and elaborate bar gave the session a timeless, cinematic quality. Another couple chose a bar with lush seats and cozy vignettes. The photos feel so intimate.
3. Natural Beauty
For outdoor engagement sessions, don’t be afraid to go big. Waterfalls and cliff sides give your engagement photos that feeling of swept-away romance. Natural settings can feel eternal like your love. Pick a sunny beach or misty mountain, whatever landscape feels like your love.
