Modern Asheville Wedding at the Venue at Mills River

There’s something so cinematic about the Blue Ridge Mountains around Asheville. It’s a stunning place to get married. Kayla and Jefferson’s modern Asheville wedding had an understated elegance. Their editorial wedding photos show the tenderness at the heart of their celebration.

The Venue at Mills River

Kayla and Jefferson held their weekday wedding at The Venue at Mills River. Even though they kept their Asheville wedding small, this venue has room for up to 150 guests. It includes a reception hall surrounded by fields full of wildflowers and mountain views. The classically-styled house is full of sunny rooms that you can use for getting ready. Packages for small weddings start at $3,000.

The Venues at Mills River is located a half hour south of Asheville in Mills River, NC. It’s close to a national forest and many parks. This venue is great for anyone who wants to enjoy the area’s breathtaking beauty while having a lot of built-in conveniences.

A Modern Asheville Wedding

Jefferson and Kayla took a different approach to their intimate wedding celebration by holding it on a weekday. They originally planned to tie the knot on a Tuesday, but the weather was going to be horrible all day long. Luckily, they were able to move their ceremony and reception to the Monday of that week. The new date happened to be my birthday. Kayla and Jefferson are so thoughtful that they surprised me with a cupcake!

Working with Jefferson and Kayla at their Asheville wedding was such a joy. You just have to look at them to know they’ve found their forever. The outdoor ceremony and reception were simple and elegant. Flowers and candles gave the dinner an enchanted feeling that fit so well with the romantic portraits on the lake and fields.

After I delivered Kayla and Jefferson’s gallery, they gave me just about the kindest review I could hope for. Here’s what they had to say: "Chelsea is the absolute best. She makes you feel like she's your life long friend and can capture every emotion in every moment. She's quick, a fantastic communicator, and is extremely professional.

β€œIf you feel uncomfortable taking photos, she makes you feel and look like a model. No lie. She'll guide you through the interactions, locations, looks, and poses. My favorite part is that Chelsea doesn't make you look or feel posed but is all-natural, flowy, and honestly just cool. My vote is always Chelsea."
